Jane Wong

Jane Wong is a pianist, composer, orchestrator, and arranger. She earned her Master of Music from The Boston Conservatory with concentrations in Music Education and Piano. Before she became a composer, she was a contemporary dancer in New York and an accompanist for ballet. Ms. Wong's teaching philosophy is that she tries to bring out the best in each student, and she encourages families to be involved in students' learning processes. Outside of music, Ms. Wong enjoys learning new languages, which informs her approach for effectively teaching sight-reading. Teaching at NSM is particularly meaningful to her, because one of her favorite piano teachers was Tim McFarland, a former executive director of NSM.
