Chris Jenkins (he/him) is an alumnus of Berklee College of Music, where he was a performance major, winning the Berklee Achievement Scholarship. He has performed at venues including Ryles Jazz Club, The Beehive, The Beat Hotel, Chianti Jazz Club, the Berklee Performance Center, Johnny D’s, The Harn Museum, the Hippodrome State Theater, and many jazz festivals along the east coast, in addition to playing for several theater productions.
With nearly three decades of teaching experience in private & public school settings and as a clinician, Chris brings his jazz background to his teaching style, with an emphasis on ear training, theory, improvisation, and their applications to all styles of music. He is equally comfortable with beginner and advanced students of all ages and styles on both acoustic and electric guitar. Many of his students have won scholarships to the nation's top collegiate music programs as well as awards and honors in middle/high school jazz bands.
