Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Regis Haynes (he/him) is a tenor, music educator, and vocal instructor who is passionate about helping students grow as singers and become more confident in their voices. He holds a Bachelor of Musical Arts in Choral Music Education, a Master of Music in Voice Performance, and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from the University of Michigan.
Regis brings several years of experience as a music educator. As a teacher, he believes that every student deserves the opportunity to grow as a musician in an environment where they feel supported and comfortable being themselves. In his voice lessons, Regis works with each student to build healthy vocal technique, musicianship, and confidence while helping them reach their individual goals and develop a love for singing.
As a performer, he has performed in opera and choral productions throughout the United States and internationally. Some of his credits include Don Basilio in Le Nozze di Figaro with the University of Michigan and Tokyo Opera Studio and Geraldo in The House on Mango Street with the Glimmerglass Festival. He has also performed with Detroit Opera in productions such as Aida, Madame Butterfly, Breaking the Waves, and The Cunning Little Vixen.
