Jennifer Burks (she/her), soprano, is known for her “lovely, gleaming soprano voice” and “effortless virtuosity.” As a professional soprano, she has sung with groups such as Boston Baroque, Boulder Opera Company, Boulder Bach Festival, and the Rhode Island Civic Chorale and Orchestra, among others. She has sung roles in opera, as a chorus member in chamber works, and as a concert soloist.
Beyond performing, Jennifer hosts a thriving vocal studio! Her commitment to every student is to provide a joyful environment that promotes confidence, individuality, and self-expression. Each student has goals that are individual to them and she believes her purpose as a teacher is to provide them with the tools they need to achieve those goals. Jennifer’s students have been accepted to multiple renowned music programs including Colorado All State Choir, Interlochen Summer Institute, NYU Stella Adler Studio, have won prizes in region NATS competitions, and been a part of many other wonderful opportunities. She enjoys teaching students of all ages and experience levels ages 6 - 86!
Jennifer graduated from The New England Conservatory of Music in 2023, earning a master’s degree in Vocal Pedagogy under the direction of Dr. Ian Howell (with whom she currently studies) and Lisa Saffer. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Arkansas (2015). When she’s not singing, you can find Jennifer reading a good book, running on the Charles River Esplanade, or hanging with her husband.
