SUZUKI METHOD- Violin, Piano, and Cello The New School of Music offers comprehensive Suzuki method instruction where students and parents attend weekly private lessons, with optional group classes and parent education classes. The Suzuki program provides parents and children with an opportunity to share the joy of music while learning an instrument. VIOLIN GROUP CLASS FOR PRE-TWINKLERS, ages 4 - 6 Group classes are a highly effective and greatly enrich a child's study of music within the Suzuki curriculum. Private lessons are not required but strongly encouraged. *3 year old students are welcome to join if approved by teacher prior to class starting.
EARLY LEVEL VIOLIN GROUP CLASS, ages 5 - 8 In this group violin class, for begining violin students, they will develop reading skills and use both Suzuki and mixed repertoire. Prerequisite - Students need to be able to play Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. Please contact info@cambridgemusic.org for more details. INTRODUCTION TO SINGING AND EAR TRAINING FOR AGES 8-11 Children learn the basics of breath support for singing, focusing on sound/projecting, pitch matching and ear training as they learn simple choral songs. Written musical notation will be introduced.

CHAMBER MUSIC AND JAZZ ENSEMBLES Participating in a small ensembles teaches students how to interact in a group in an intimate setting, and improves listening skills and musicality. It’s also fun! The NSM staff will form ensembles based on instrumentation, ability, and age. At least two years previous instrument study required.
